Just near the toggle clasp is a smooth mint green fluorite and another is just a few beads away. Entirely handmade in 22k yellow gold, gaspeite is a rare mineral and named for the place it was first mined - Gaspé Peninsula, Québec. The term fluorescence is derived from fluorite, which will often markedly exhibit this effect. Meticulously made in rich yellow gold that I alloy in my New Orleans studio, this necklace is also hand strung and the beads are knotted. It is the only one of its kind. Created using the ancient techniques of classical goldsmithing.
